INTRODUCTION

Africa Kin Education Resource Centre is planning to host the African Youth Congress 2025 between 16th-17th January 2025. The 2-day event is expected to be hosted at the Common Wealth Resort Hotel, Munyonyo. This Concept Note therefore is intended to guide the actualization of the formal preparatory processes for hosting the Congress.

Background of the Congress

Africa in the recent past has been considered as a new economic growth frontier with enormous potential for economic growth and development. However, there seems to be numerous challenges ranging from ideology, poverty, instability and leadership, which limit the African people from exploiting this potential to spur Africa’s development.
Throughout history, Africa has had a huge disadvantage of the lack of a Centre of Gravity for her civilization. The Centre of gravity is the control area, focal point and origin of the key cultural practices of a society. The lack of the Centre gave way for catastrophes
such as slave trade, colonialism and cultural hegemony today. In contrast, the West has always had a Centre and the United States of America serves the purpose today.
The greatest resource and backbone Africa relied on and continues to hold onto for any constructive process is her culture. The diverse ethnicities, races, religious groups and other social groups provide Africa with a rich way of life preventing immoral erosions
like homosexuality.
As a result of pan African endeavors and guidance from His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to safeguard the precious African culture, the Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2023 was passed with hindsight to control the spread of and prevent further damage by the inhumane behaviors of lesbianism, gayism, bisexualism and transgenderism in Uganda.
History did repeat itself as expected as political, social and economic pressure is being amounted on the Ugandan government including revocation of Uganda visas to Europe and the United States of America, cancellation of aid packages, closure of the Human
Rights office in Uganda. These are all ploys to exact pressure to invalidate the act as it was in 2014.
It is against this background that the Africa Youth Congress (Conference) 2025 is being organized with an understanding that the Youth on the Continent, are ready to stand with the historical leader, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the fight for the African civilization Centre of gravity in Uganda to against the ungodly, anti-African and anti-people homosexual practices.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CONGRESS

  • To lay foundation for the Center of gravity of the African civilization.
To identify and strategize against the worst forms of immorality e.g. homosexuality and its agents.
  • To strategize against cultural hegemony by other societies on African soil.
To re-awaken and promote the spirit of Pan-Africanism amongst the Youth on the African Continent.
  • To identify the key modernity disciplines and strategies that the young people should adopt to create a modern prosperous and civilized Africa.
  • To mobilize and sensitize the young African people about the Concept of African Roots and advance the cause for Africa’s Development Agenda
  • To discuss the fundamentals for strengthening Africa’s Political and Economic integration, a precursor for Sustainable Development of the Continent
  • To recognize African leaders who have tremendously contributed to the liberation of African people and promote African unity in diversity.
  • To reinvigorate the call for the African Diaspora to return home and contribute to the development of their

PARTICIPANTS

The Congress is expected to attract 1,000 delegates from across Africa and the Diaspora.
All the 55 African Countries are expected to be represented as well as leaders from the African Union, the EAC, SADC and ECOWAS.

JUSTIFICATION OF THE CONGRESS

Our dear motherland, Africa, is currently estimated at 1.47 billion people. Yet it is estimated that Africa will have more than 2.5 billion people by 2050. This translates into a 2.5 billion people market and workforce. This population shall potentially be a great socio-economic asset to Africa. Although all this shall be possible if the African people find a common cultural direction that shall define the African modernization path.
The common African modernization path based on a singular cultural direction is a vaccine to unnatural immoral practices e.g. homosexuality etc. AYC2025 is a platform on which the various African leaders alongside the African Youth shall join hands and efforts to create a singular cultural path towards an African modernization path.
